You have the right to delete your Otter account and personal data at any time. This page explains how to submit a deletion request, what gets removed, and what data we are legally required to retain.

Overview

Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile, order history, preferences, and all personal information associated with your Otter account from our active systems.

This action is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. All your order history and saved preferences will be permanently lost.

How to Delete Your Account

To request account deletion, send an email to us with the following details:

  • Full name registered on the account
  • Registered phone number or email address
  • Subject line: Account Deletion Request

We will process your request within 7 business days and send a confirmation to your registered email address once complete.

What Happens After Deletion

Once your deletion request is confirmed:

  • Your account and profile are deactivated immediately
  • All personal data is removed from our active systems within 7 business days
  • You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
  • You will be logged out of all devices
  • Any pending or active orders at the time of deletion will be cancelled where possible

Data We Retain

Even after account deletion, we are required by law to retain certain data for a limited period. This data is stored securely and is never used for marketing or platform purposes.

  • Transaction and payment records (required for tax and financial compliance)
  • Records related to disputes, refunds, or active legal proceedings
  • Data required under applicable Indian laws and regulations

Retained data is held solely for legal compliance and is permanently deleted once the applicable retention period expires.

Reactivation

Deleted accounts cannot be reactivated. If you wish to use Otter again after deletion, you will need to create a new account. Your previous order history and preferences will not be recoverable.
